What’s Counseling or Psychotherapy?
Counseling or Psychotherapy are terms often used interchangeably. Counseling is short-term in nature and typically focuses on a specific problem and the necessary steps to solve it. Psychotherapy on the other hand is typically longer in duration and focuses on overall patterns, underlying issues, and recurrent feelings of the past and the present.
How Do I Choose Between Counseling or Psychotherapy?
The great news: You don’t. Choosing between Counseling or Psychotherapy isn’t as important as finding a mental health care provider who’s a good fit for you. And if I’m not, that’s okay. I’d be happy to help find you someone who is.
Do I Need Counseling or Psychotherapy?
If you’re here, then chances are the answer is YES. Life is hard. Everyone needs some type of counseling or psychotherapy at one point in their lives or another. Either way, I’m glad you’re here. Let’s do this!
What insurance plans do you take?
Ambetter, BCBS, QualChoice, Cigna, and UHC/Optum
Traditional Medicaid and Medicare (*Still waiting on the Advantage Plans to be approved*)
What if I don’t have insurance?
That’s okay. I also offer cash rates for those who don’t have insurance or are uninsured, don’t have coverage for mental health services through their insurance plan, those with out-of-network insurance coverage, or clients who choose not to use their insurance benefits. The cash rate is negotiated on a case-by-case basis. My biller does not submit claims for out-of-network insurance plans AKA insurance companies I'm not paneled with. You can contact (870) 406-4705 and request a SUPERBILL that you can personally submit to your insurance company.
As of January 1, 2022, under the No Surprises Act, all medical professionals and healthcare professionals are required to provide a Good Faith Estimate (GFE) for all current and new clients that outlines the expected cost of treatment for those that are uninsured or those who are insured but choose not to use their insurance benefits to pay for mental health services. The Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is provided to give you an approximate idea of the cost of mental health therapy services based on current information. Actual costs may vary depending on your individual needs, the length of treatment, and any unforeseen circumstances; it is not a guarantee of the final cost.

How much does it cost?
Unfortunately, this is a loaded question. Insurance companies set rates according to their own policies and procedures; they basically determine the cost or fee. Each carrier has different rates they reimburse for mental health services. I do my best to work with your insurance plan, but CANNOT GUARANTEE exact cost. My biller will provide you with an estimate prior to your first scheduled appointment, but again, this is only an estimate and not a guarantee. I can't tell you the number of times I've personally called to verify insurance benefits just to be told 1-5 different versions based on whoever answered the phone 🤦I strongly encourage clients to call their insurance company and ask about their insurance benefits. This information is located on the back of your insurance card. Any services not covered by your insurance benefits are solely your responsibility. Payment for services rendered are due at time of service.
**No one will be denied access to services due to an inability to pay. I offer a Pay What You Can Rate for those experiencing financial hardships, are uninsured, or due to unforeseen circumstances**
